What's the meaning of Versya? Versya is an invented word with the root in the word verse; Versya is the world where verses live: Feelings and Emotions, Fears and Doubts, Hopes and Dreams, all unanswered Questions, a hostile land and a calm land at the same time, an open door to our mind and imagination, a reflection of this world and the complexity of human beings, recreated in the fantasy world called Versya. Did you dare to come in our world?

Versya is a four piece melodic death metal band, with industrial influences, composed by vocalist Noelia FJ, guitarist Jaime Monteagudo, bassist and vocalist Enric Juan and drummer Jerry Cestelos.

THE FIRST ALBUM

Ink On Paper

Versya's first self-produced LP, Ink on Paper, is a 10 track, 38 minutes long melodic death metal album, full of industrial and doom influences.

After a fully electronic and mysterious Intro, the song "The Hunter and the Wolf" begins a set of three powerful and fast songs with powerful riffs and an aggressive sound, with catchy choruses, heavy breakdowns and melodic guitar solos by Jaime Monteagudo (being the other two "I Am Wrath" and "Fear the Fear")". Finally, "Pendulum", a duet between singer Noelia FJ and bassist Enric Juan, marks the end of this frantic first part of the album.

The next song is the title track "Ink on Paper", released in 2018 as the first single of the band as an official video. A slow, doom-like song with lots of melody that keeps on growing and gaining strength and aggressiveness as it develops. This slower break comes to an end only to move to the fastest track in the album, "Chernoshima", with its drums intro by Jerry Cestelos; and "Old Clock", a more modern sounding song, which features a collaboration with Status of the Dark.

With only two tracks left, "The Longest War" begins with a middle eastern sounding melody to move on to a powerful, dark, death metal anthem. Finally, "Storyteller", the second single and video of the band (released in 2019) brings the album to a closing, with another catchy mid-tempo song and an outro-like ending, giving closure to this work and paving the way for future releases.
